Why we started homeschooling

Hello!

We didn’t start homeschooling because we wanted to recreate a classroom at home. We started because we wanted more time together, more freedom to follow our kids’ curiosity, and more opportunities to learn through actually experiencing the world around us.

I kept coming back to the idea that childhood is short, and I didn’t want learning to feel separate from living. I wanted museum days, road trips, nature walks, cooking in the kitchen, building things, asking a million questions and chasing down the answers to all count as school.

So that’s what we’re creating — a childhood filled with hands-on learning, adventure, family time and plenty of room to wonder. Think a little less traditional classroom and a little more Magic School Bus… just without the shrinking school bus.

And as we learn what works for our family, I’ll be sharing more of it here too. Soon you’ll be able to find homeschool resources, activity ideas, themed learning guides, field trip inspiration and simple ways to make learning feel a little more fun and a lot more doable.
